The number of boxes depends more on storage and daily habits than room count, but a room-by-room estimate is a helpful start.
Estimate by home size
A studio often needs 20 to 30 boxes. A one-bedroom may need 30 to 45, a two-bedroom 45 to 60, and a house can easily exceed 70.
- Studio: about 20–30 boxes
- One-bedroom: about 30–45
- Two-bedroom: about 45–60
- House: about 70–120
Choose the right box size
Small boxes suit books and dense objects. Medium boxes work well for kitchens and everyday belongings. Large boxes are best for light items such as bedding.
Label for a faster arrival
Write the destination room on the top and one side of every box. A short contents note makes the first unpacking hours much easier.
